New York Farm Viability Institute

A Strong Future for New York Agriculture

Applied Research Partnership Grants

What is the Applied Research Partnership grant program?

Proposals to the Applied Research Partnership (ARP) grant program should emphasize new practical, on-farm efforts designed to produce measurable benefit to participating farms within the lifespan of the project, including testing theory in farm conditions, adapting technology for not-yet-tested conditions, etc.

Applied Research Partnership projects should include an outreach education component. Project goals should include creating templates for other producers to follow after the project is complete.

Priority goes to proposals that include farmer participation across agriculture sectors, commodities, production and management systems, or regions of the state.

Grant eligibility

Eligible grant applicants include farmers, producer groups, researchers, educators, organizations, agencies and businesses. Applicants may represent nonprofit or for-profit sectors.

Projects should work with New York State resident farmers and outcomes should benefit agriculture in the state.
